If something on RailBuzz has gone wrong — a passenger behaving badly, a moderation decision you think is unfair, or a question about your personal data — this page tells you who to write to and how long we will take.
Grievance Officer
| Name | Kiran Kumar |
|---|---|
| Designation | Grievance Officer, and Contact Person for data protection |
| grievance@railbuzz.in | |
| Postal address | VSR Enclave, Kukatpally, Hyderabad, Telangana, India |
| Applies to | RailBuzz mobile application (com.railbuzz.app) and railbuzz.in |
The same individual serves as Grievance Officer under the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, and as the contact person for questions about personal data under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. The two roles carry different response timelines, set out below.
How long we take
We aim to give you a substantive first response within 72 hours of receiving any complaint. That is our own commitment, and it is shorter than the law requires. The statutory deadlines below are the outer limits:
| Type of complaint | We acknowledge | We respond | We resolve by |
|---|---|---|---|
|
Content and conduct Abuse, harassment, spam, impersonation, a moderation decision, anything said in a chat room |
Within 24 hours | Within 72 hours | 15 days IT Rules 2021 |
|
Your personal data A copy of your data, a correction, erasure, withdrawing consent |
Within 72 hours | Within 72 hours | 30 days DPDP Rules 2025 |
How to complain
About something in a chat room — use the app first
If the problem is a specific message, use the flag on that message rather than writing to us. It is not a formality: flagging captures a copy of the message, the room, the time and the surrounding conversation, and that copy is kept even after the chat itself is deleted. An email describing the message from memory captures none of it, and chat is deleted a few days after a journey ends.
Repeated reports against one passenger pause their ability to post while a person reviews it. Nothing is decided by software alone.
Anything else — write to the Grievance Officer
Email grievance@railbuzz.in. To help us answer quickly, please include:
- Your passenger alias (shown on your profile screen, e.g.
Rider-A3F2) - The train number and date, if it relates to a chat room
- What happened, and what you would like us to do
Please do not include your password or any payment details. We will never ask for them.
If you are not satisfied
Content and conduct decisions
If you disagree with the Grievance Officer's decision, or we do not respond within the timelines above, you may appeal to the Grievance Appellate Committee constituted under Rule 3A of the IT Rules, 2021, within 30 days of our decision: gac.gov.in.
Personal data
If you are not satisfied with how we handled a data-protection request, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India constituted under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
What RailBuzz is not
RailBuzz is a community chat app. It is not an official Indian Railways channel, and it does not dispatch help. Nothing sent through this page or the app reaches railway staff or emergency services.
For an emergency, call Rail Madad 139, Emergency 112 or RPF 182.
